In front of approximately 80,000 fans in Wembley Stadium, Anthony Joshua defeated Alexander Povetkin in the 7th round with a KO to remain the Unified World Heavyweight Champion. Joshua had a slow start to this match taking numerous of hits including one jab to the face that caused Joshua’s nose to bleed. However, the resilient Joshua began to take control of the fight in Round 3, which led to the KO and victory in Round 7. With this victory, Joshua improves to a record of 22-0 (21 KOs).
The question everyone is asking (ONCE AGAIN) is whether we will get the Wilder fight next. After the match, Joshua admitted that we want to fight to Wilder for his next match on April 13th, 2019. I’m not going to get my hopes up like last time, but I sure hope we do get this fight next year.
