The Nigerian Women National Team began their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with a draw against Canada.
Chiamaka Nnadozie, Nigeria’s Goalkeeper, was named Player of the Match for her dominant performance protecting the goal. This included a huge save on a penalty kick from Canadian’s star Christine Sinclair in the 51st minute.
With the draw, the Super Falcons earn one point to be tied for second in Group B. The top two teams in each group advances to the knockout round.
