As you may know, Dr. Seun Adigun is the only Olympian from the continent of Africa that participated in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. She represented Nigeria in the 2012 Summer Olympics competing in the 100M Hurdles and was part of the historic Nigerian Women Bobsled team at the 2018 Winter Olympics. As Seun continues to promote participation amongst Nigerian athletes in winter sports, Seun is embarking on a new project. Seun started a philanthropic initiative called Dr. Seun Cares that helps those in need and raise awareness to important global issues.

One of the initiatives is the Dr. Seun Cares: COVID-19 Relief program. The goal is to help families in Nigeria dealing with difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Seun and her partners have been by providing food and support to families through the help of donations. They are hoping to feed 100 families from 10 different states which will cover 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria. Special thanks to my team at @tmplsports for being on ground at the The Obele Odan Community in Surulere to facilitate the distribution of goods. Community leaders were able to assist with handing out items to elderly women as well as other members of the community. . . The Bobsled & Skeleton Federation of Nigeria (@bsfnigeria) coaches and administrators were also on ground making sure that we were able to assist athletes from BSFN who have not had the opportunity to earn income due to the lock down. Members of the Lagos Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) were also given provisions as a means to considering their loss of work and income during this pandemic. . . Thank you to EVERYONE who has contributed thus far. Our mission is to feed 10 states and 1 is officially complete! Next up, Delta State! . .
