The FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship took place this past weekend in Dakar Arena in Senegal where Nigeria was victorious against host country Senegal 60 -55. The D’Tigress win gave them their second straight AfroBasket title (fourth overall).

Evelyn Akhator led the team in scoring and rebounding during the final game with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Ezinne Kalu was named MVP of the AfroBasket Tournament and had 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assist, and 2 steals during the win versus Senegal.
