One of the underrated news stories this month was the announcement that Brooklyn Nets star guard Spencer Dinwiddie is attempting to play for the Nigeria National Team in the upcoming Olympics in 2021. According to reports, Dinwiddie is acquiring a Nigerian passport to play for the D’Tigers. Erica Ogwumike Joins Her Sisters in the WNBA

Image Via @WSLAM Twitter

On Friday night, Erica Ogwumike was drafted in the third round of the 2020 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty. She was later traded to the Minnesota Lynx. Erica now joins her sisters Nneka & Chiney of the Los Angeles Sparks as the third Ogwumike sister in the WNBA. Congrats to the Ogwumike family on this amazing accomplishment. It is truly a blessing to have three sisters in the league playing at the same time especially when Nneka and Chiney are some of the faces/stars of the WNBA. Nneka is a former WNBA Most Valuable Player winner (2016),WNBA Champion (2016), and is the current Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) President. Chiney is a two-time WNBA All Star and the Vice President of the WNBPA. Also, Chiney is becoming one of the rising sports personality and analyst in the business. Like her sisters, I expect nothing but great things for Erica both on and off the court. We will all be looking forward to the Lynx vs Sparks games once the WNBA season resumes.

Olajuwon Records Quadruple Double 30 Years Ago

30 years ago today (3/29/90), Houston Rockets Center Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon recorded the third quadruple double in NBA history. Olajuwon’s stat line in that game vs. the Milwaukee Bucks was 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assist, and 11 blocks. Believe it or not, Olajuwon actually recorded a quadruple double earlier that season, but the NBA rescinded one assist from him.  To date, there has only been four official recorded quadruple doubles in NBA history (last one occurring in 1994).
